Mohala Pono Ē

Mohala Pono Ē / To Blossom in Righteousness

Mohala Pono Ē - translated into English means To Grow and Develop in a Righteous Way

About the mele: A call to action, imploring the necessity for unity amongst nā kānaka maoli to reunify as one. As we move forward on the path to self-governance, we, nā kānaka maoli, must do so in a pono and righteous way that honors our past as we steer to the future.

In the same manner that music inspired the Hawaiian renaissance in the 1970s, Mohala Pono Ē was created to inspire Hawaiians today to reunify and move forward together towards self-determination.
